Are you sabotaging yourself?
If you do not take care of yourself and emotions first, you can be self-sabotaging yourself without realizing it? What does that mean? Let’s say you are doing really good. Made it to the gym that day and you even ate very healthy. And then all of a sudden, you get this uncontrollable urge to eat something really horrible. You sit there and have to decide. Am I going to stick to what I promised myself or am I going to give into this?
Where does it stop? Today, you cave in. What about tomorrow? Will you do it again? When you get down to the root of the issue… I have found that there is a much larger battle going on within YOU.
2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving.” Are we really seeing these “urges” for what they really are? Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 9:27, “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” He learned to say no to himself and his wants. We are not to be “led” by our flesh but by the Holy Spirit.
Address those issues! Throwing them in the closet and quickly closing the door is not fooling anyone. It’s time we open the closet door and clean it out! The first step is to know that you have been doing it. We all have done it. Trust me, I have done it myself. So don’t get into condemnation but learn from it and change.
Uncover those issues. THROW OUT THE JUNK!!!! The past is the PAST! Tomorrow, you will be a new person.
I received during my devotional time with GOD that we need to:
FIND IT. EXPOSE IT. HEAL IT.
Find what is holding you back. Let’s bring light to it by exposing the lie so God can heal those wounds.
SAY IT WITH ME: I AM NOT WHO I USED TO BE. I AM NOT WHO I WAS 5 YEARS OLD, 10 YEARS AGO, OR EVEN YESTERDAY. I AM FORGIVEN. LORD, I PRAY THAT YOU RESTORE ALL OF MY MISTAKES AND FIX ANY WRONGS IN MY LIFE. AMEN!
